Leadership
Audible
Some of my favorite books:
Good to Great by Jim Collins
A management book that aims to describe how companies make the transition from being average to great! Every day I apply Jim’s leadership insights in our nonprofit enterprise Altitude: Healthcare Mentoring.
Made to Stick by Chip and Dan Heath
In this awesome book Chip and Dan seek to explain what makes an idea or concept memorable or interesting. I use these principles in my presentations and whenever pitching a new idea.
Innovation
Zinio
I often find myself reading the same periodicals – science and technology magazines or medical journals. To help expand my mind and provide fresh inspiration I often turn to design magazines. Zinio is a great resource to find cool art and design magazines online. Of course they provide a wide selection of other magazines. However, for me the greatest value comes from trying to bring ideas from the design world to my work in healthcare and the social sector.
My favorite design magazine:
Dwell
Dwell is a magazine devoted to modern architecture and design. They believe that good design is an integral part of real life and I try to incorporate that same philosophy in my projects.
